1. 袖手旁观 sit backsit back基本义“舒服地坐好”，
引申义“不采取行动，袖手旁观”
英语解释为to relax and make ，
no effort to get involved in something or influence what happens。
例
we cannot sit back and hope ，
that everything works out for the best.
We cannot afford to be tired or frustrated or cynical.
我们不能袖手旁观，希望最后的结果是最好的，
我们承受不起疲倦、沮丧或愤世嫉俗的代价。
I can't sit back and watch you risk our financial future.
如果你要拿我们未来财务冒险，我不能袖手旁观。《破产姐妹》
2. 袖手旁观 stand by
(1) stand by “袖手旁观”
英语解释为to not do anything to help someone or prevent ，
something from happening。
(2) bystander “旁观者，局外人，看热闹的人”
例
You knew this and just stood by and did nothing?
你知道这些，却只是袖手旁观?
If you're outnumbered,
the last thing you need is somebody standing by.
如果你们寡不敌众，
最不该的就是让一个人袖手旁观。
3. 无动于衷 be impenetrable to sth.
(1) impenetrable [ɪmˈpenɪtrəbl]“不可进入的，
穿不过的，无法透视的”
(2) be impenetrable to sth.“对……无动于衷”
例
I am walking down the street like this，
because after last night, I am impenetrable to shame.
我就是要这个样子走出去，因为昨晚过后，
羞耻心对我来说就是浮云。
He seems to be impenetrable to what she said.
他对她的话无动于衷。
