I'm in the black表达什么意思呢？

　　比如：red 红、pink 粉红、purple 紫色、green 绿色、blue 蓝色、

　　black 黑色、white 白色、yellow 黄色、

　　orange 橙色、grey 灰色、silver 银色、golden 金色、

　　beige 米色、brown 咖啡色、

　　scarlet 猩红色、violet 紫罗兰色。

　　不过我们今天要聊的不是色彩本身，

　　而是各种与色彩组成的英文短语，

　　意思大不相同：

　　1.I'm in the black前几天Tom说要请客吃大餐

　　并说了一句"I'm in the black"

　　同事看着Tom的蓝色外套，

　　一脸不解地问：

　　“他不是穿着蓝色衣服吗?

　　怎么说black?”

　　其实：

　　be in the black=(账户上)有钱，有盈余

　　所以老外说“I'm in the black”

　　意思是“我有闲钱了”

　　这里要重点提一下：in black 和 in the black 的区别：

　　in black=穿黑衣服

　　I am dressed in black today.

　　我今天穿的黑色衣服。

　　in the black=有盈余, 没有负债

　　例句：

　　I wish my accounts were in the black.

　　真希望我的账户里有钱啊。

　　We moved the company into the black.

　　我们使公司扭亏为盈。

　　2.“in the red”是什么意思?和in the black意思相反，

　　in the red = 亏空;负债;有赤字，

　　因为老外喜欢用黑色笔来标记盈利，

　　用红色的笔来表示亏损，

　　例：

　　Are we in the red this month?

　　我们这个月出现了赤字吗?

　　3.“in the dark”是什么意思?

　　in the dark表示：蒙在鼓里，浑然不知，

　　强调别人都知道，

　　就自己不知道，

　　被周围的人蒙在鼓里，

　　也暗含某人应该知道，却没被通知

　　例：

　　We're clearly being kept in the dark，

　　about what's happening.

　　对于现在发生的状况，

　　我们明显被蒙在了鼓里。

　　如果想表达“在黑暗里”可以用in the darkness

　　例：

　　He lay in the darkness,

　　pretending to sleep.

　　他躺在黑暗中，

　　假装睡觉。
