雅思口语：“马后炮”用英语怎么说？

所谓“马后炮”，经常是形容那些人：事后诸葛亮，事情都已经发生了，做完了，你才说要帮忙，说自己的各种先见之明，说自己早就料到事情会这样发生！
这种人，事情发生之前永远找不到他人，事发之后，就是各种吹嘘自己的先见之明，好像一切都是按照他的剧本在发生！

1. “马后炮”英文怎么说？
“马后炮”是指“不及时的举动”，
英语中可以用belated action来表示。
Bob always likes to conduct belated action.
鲍勃总是爱放马后炮。
例子
A:The report Mary wrote is not qualified.
I should have told her how to write it.
玛丽写的这份报告不合格。
我本应该告诉她该怎么写的。
B:Just belated action.
真是马后炮。
“马后炮”也可以理解为“迟到的建议”
所以可以用belated advice表示。
还可以使用：second guesser
事后诸葛亮：
second guesser, be wise after the event
他是个马后炮。
He is a second guesser.
2. “拉下水”英文怎么说？
词的实际意思是“使某人陷入困境”，
可以用drag sb. into the mire来表示，
其中mire的意思是“泥潭”。
Jack didn't want to drag Mary into the mire.
杰克不想把玛丽拉下水。
例句
A:Do you want to deal with us?
你想和我们做生意吗?
B:Don't drag me into the mire.
别把我拉下水。
3.“临时抱佛脚”英文怎么说？
“临时抱佛脚”的意思是“在最后时刻努力”，
其英文表达是make effort at the last moment，
其中短语make effort是“努力”的意思。
Tom always makes effort at the last moment of the exam.
汤姆总是在考试前临时抱佛脚。
例子
A:I stayed up all night, preparing for the final exam.
我为准备期末考试熬夜了。
B:You shouldn't make effort at the last moment.
你不应该临时抱佛脚。
make a frantic last-minute effort也表示“临时抱佛脚”
其中的frantic /ˈfræntɪk/ 指“手忙脚乱的”
4. “忘年交”英文怎么说？
忘年交
虽然这个词里有“忘”字，
但是其英文表达里并没有forget一词，
“忘年交”的意思是“年龄相差比较大、
辈分不同的两个人之间的友谊”，
即friendship between generations。
John and Mr.Smith have established a friendship between generations.
约翰和史密斯先生成了忘年交。
例子
A:Tom and that old man have a friendship between generations.
汤姆和那个老人是忘年交。
B:Yes, they've known each other for many years.
是的，他们认识很多年了。
5. “下不来台”英文怎么说？
下不来台的意思是“感到难堪”，
所以可以用be put on the spot表示，
其中的spot指“地点”。
Tom put the general manager on the spot.
汤姆让总经理下不来台。
例子
A:What you did put Jack on the spot.
你那样做让杰克下不来台。
B:I was just telling the truth.
我只是说了实话。
feel embarrassed /ɪmˈbærəst/
也表示“下不来台”
比如：
What Jim said made me feel embarrassed.
吉姆说的话让我下不来台。
